Born and raised in the heart of Orange County, CA, and the daughter of an avid surfer, I spent the majority of my childhood in the sunshine. Although fun, the suns damage started to take it's toll.
As the years went by and I spent a good part of early adulthood trying to juggle protecting my skin from harmful UV rays and trying to achieve a natural, tan glow. I tried tanning beds with the illusion that it was healthier than natural sun. When my father had his first skin cancer scare, I realized that UV rays and fair skin just don't go hand in hand.
I tried lotions, mystic tans, tanning wipes, you name it. I finally received my first custom tan and was instantly hooked! I felt golden and confident. I couldn't wait to try different salons and solutions, researching the science of DHA and the effect of percentage levels vs skin tones, exploring different ways to prep for tans and extend color results.
As the years past and spray tanning popularity grew, I went back and forth with the idea of launching my own service. One thing I realized as I entered the different salons was the constant feeling of intimidation. As friendly and professional as everyone is, I am constantly surrounded by photos of beautiful models in swimsuits or tiny outfits. When it was time for me to disrobe, I just wanted to run out!
That's when it clicked. I wanted to start a service that focuses on one task. Making everyone feel pretty. It's that simple. I want you to feel comfortable in your own home, asking any questions you have, wearing as much or as little as you'd like during your service and leave you feeling like the goddess you are.
And that is how Left Coast Glow was born.
